NEET UG Documents Required for Counselling: The Master Verification Protocol
1. Why Document Verification is the Ultimate Gatekeeper
In medical counselling, securing a seat on the online allotment portal is only half the battle. If any submitted certificate fails to match the strict legal proforma prescribed by MCC or State DMEs during physical reporting, the allotment is summarily cancelled on the spot, and the seat is declared vacant for the next round. Candidates cannot rectify core category errors after round deadlines.
2. Master Category-Wise Document Checklist
| Document Type | Specific Verification Purpose | Issuing Authority & Validity Rules |
|---|---|---|
| NEET UG Admit Card | Verification of roll number, signature & candidate biometric photo. | Original downloaded printout with passport photo affixed. |
| NEET UG Rank Letter / Scorecard | Proof of All India Rank (AIR), category rank, and qualifying percentile. | NTA digital scorecard printout. |
| Class 10 Certificate & Mark Sheet | Legal proof of Date of Birth (DOB) and candidate's parentage spelling. | Recognized Central / State Board of Secondary Education. |
| Class 12 Mark Sheet & Passing Certificate | Proof of 50% (UR) / 40% (Reserved) aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English. | Recognized Higher Secondary Board. Original mandatory. |
| Provisional Allotment Letter | Proof of seat entitlement in the specific round and category. | Generated and downloaded directly from MCC or State DME portal. |
| Government Photo Identity Proof | Biometric identification (Aadhaar Card, Passport, PAN, Voter ID). | Must match name and DOB exactly as printed on NEET application. |
| Passport Size Photographs | Identity confirmation and file record keeping (8 to 12 copies). | Must be identical to the photograph uploaded on the NEET application. |
3. Category & Quota-Specific Certificates (Critical Formats)
