Editorial Policy
How we create, verify, and maintain the counselling data and college information on MahaAdmission Medical.

Guiding Principles
Every piece of content published on MahaAdmission Medical is governed by three core principles:
Accuracy First
We publish only verified data. If a data point cannot be traced to an official source, it is not published — regardless of how widely it circulates elsewhere.
Source Transparency
Every published data set includes a source attribution and a "last verified" timestamp, so users know exactly where the information came from and when it was checked.
Timely Updates
Counselling data is time-sensitive. We prioritise rapid ingestion and verification of new notices, seat matrices, and allotment results as they are released.
Source Requirements
We maintain strict source requirements. Content on MahaAdmission Medical is derived exclusively from the following categories of sources:
Primary Sources (Mandatory)
Official documents published by government bodies — notifications, circulars, seat matrices, allotment lists, and fee-structure orders from MCC (mcc.nic.in), NMC (nmc.org.in), NTA (nta.ac.in), AACCC (aaccc.gov.in), state DMEs, CET cells, and university registrar offices.
Secondary Sources (Supplementary Only)
Official press releases, Gazette notifications, RTI responses, and court orders. These are used only to supplement or clarify primary-source data — never as the sole basis for a published data point.
Excluded Sources
We do not use unofficial mirrors, social-media posts, coaching-centre circulars, WhatsApp forwards, news articles (unless they embed the original government document), or any inferred or estimated data. Anonymously sourced "leaked" documents are never published.
Verification Pipeline
All data passes through a six-stage pipeline before it appears on the portal. No stage can be skipped.
Automated scrapers and manual monitors track official websites for new publications. We monitor MCC, NMC, NTA, AACCC, and 28+ state-authority websites at regular intervals. When a new document is detected, it enters the pipeline automatically.
The original document is downloaded and archived with a SHA-256 checksum, capture timestamp, and source URL. This archive serves as the immutable reference — if the source website later modifies or removes the document, we retain the original for auditability.
Structured data is extracted from the archived document using format-specific parsers (PDF tables, HTML pages, Excel sheets). Extraction rules are maintained per source to handle variations in formatting across authorities.
Extracted data is mapped to our normalised schema. This includes standardising college names (matching NMC registry IDs), category codes (SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, etc.), quota types (AIQ, state, management, NRI), and fee denominations.
The mapped data undergoes automated consistency checks — comparing against previous rounds, historical trends, and cross-referencing with other authorities. Anomalies (e.g., a cutoff rank dropping by more than 20% between rounds without a corresponding seat increase) are flagged for manual review.
Verified data is published on the portal with source attribution, a "last verified" timestamp, and a document reference link. Data that fails verification is held until discrepancies are resolved — we never publish unverified data to meet a deadline.

Corrections & Error Reporting
We treat every inaccuracy as a critical issue. If you spot an error — a wrong cutoff rank, an outdated fee figure, or a misattributed college detail — please report it to corrections@mahaadmission.in. We aim to acknowledge reports within 12 hours and publish verified corrections within 24 hours.

Editorial Independence
MahaAdmission Medical does not accept sponsored content, paid college reviews, or advertiser-influenced rankings. Advertising revenue (where present) is handled separately from editorial operations and has no bearing on which colleges are featured, how data is presented, or which information is prioritised.
Our editorial team operates independently. College profiles and data pages are never created or modified at the request of an institution, coaching centre, or advertiser.
