Why Document Preparation is Critical
Document errors are one of the leading causes of seat cancellations and reporting rejections in NEET counselling. The counselling window is short — typically 2–3 days for registration — and you cannot add missing documents later in most cases.
Core Documents — Required by All Authorities
These are mandatory for every type of NEET UG counselling

Category-Specific Documents
Required only for candidates claiming reservation benefits
- SC/ST Caste Certificate issued by competent authority (Tehsildar/SDM/DM)
- Certificate should be in the prescribed format as per central government norms
- Must mention the caste is recognized under the Central/State list
- Keep multiple certified copies — originals may need to be submitted
- Central OBC-NCL Certificate (not a state certificate)
- Must be issued in the current or recent financial year
- Family income must be below ₹8 lakhs per annum
- Must include "Non-Creamy Layer" declaration
- EWS Income and Asset Certificate in the prescribed format
- Issued by Tehsildar / Sub-Divisional Magistrate / District Magistrate
- Family income must be below ₹8 lakhs and not exceed land/property limits
- Must have the official seal and signature of competent authority
- Disability Certificate / UDID Card issued by government hospital
- Must show disability type and percentage (minimum 40% for PWBD reservation)
- Certificate from District Hospital or recognized government medical institution
- Some states require a fresh fitness certificate for medical education
