BDS Counselling Overview
BDS counselling is conducted alongside MBBS counselling by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for AIQ seats and by state authorities for state quota seats. All admissions are based on NEET UG scores.
- AIQ Counselling: 15% of BDS seats across all states via MCC
- State Counselling: 85% state quota BDS seats
- DCI Recognition: All BDS colleges must be recognized by the Dental Council of India
- BDS Duration: 5 years (4 years academics + 1 year rotatory internship)
Eligibility for BDS
- Minimum 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology in Class 12 (40% for reserved categories)
- Qualifying NEET UG score as per DCI norms
- Age: Minimum 17 years as of December 31 of admission year
- Must meet state domicile requirements for state quota seats
